On Monday (my birthday), my family had me over for pasties and birthday cake. Actually I should say birthday brownies with chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce and chocolate chips! I do have a picture that I should upload at some point.
Well, after all the wonderful food, we played a couple games: take 2 and Dutch Blitz. While playing dutch blitz, we thought it would be fun to take video clips of the games to see how fast we were playing. If you like fast card games and have never tried Dutch Blitz, you should definitely try it. It's much like nerts, but uses special cards. I learned the game at a summer music camp 12 years ago, and it has been a family favorite since then.
It's a bit long, but fun (to me) to watch. Thanks Anna for putting the video together!

That was fun to watch. Thanks for posting it and thanks to Anna for making it! :)
I watched the video several days ago, but didn't have time to comment. Having been an eye witness of a few Lofgren Dutch Blitz rounds, I must say the video doesn't do justice to the rate at which the game is played. However, as I listened closely, I could hear the smack of individuals laying down cards which sounded is quite representative of the noise you hear. Come to think of it . . . it kinda sounds like popcorn popping. The closer to the end of the game the more frequent the "smack".
I would say "hope you enjoyed your birthday", but I can tell from the video you did.
