Is Miriam Hiding?

Way too much time has passed since I have posted on this blog. My resolutions to post on a regular basis have fallen by the wayside. One might think that I have been extremely busy or stressed out, but, that's not the case.

Sure, life has been passing quickly, but it's also felt like a somewhat relaxed and fun spring. As you saw in our last post, the weather here is absolutely beautiful. I'm enjoying living in here where the springs are mild, and temperature is cool.

I have simply not been posting for no good reason. I've been reading many blogs. Typically I read blogs over lunch, but can't comment because for some reason the pages with comments are typically blocked at work. In the same way, the posting page for this blog is blocked. So, I've become a media consumer instead of a producer for the past months.

Will it change? Possibly. I do have a couple ideas for blog posts right now. But, it could well be that time will pass quickly to quickly for me to post as much as I would like since John and I are busy at work and church and enjoying life together. The evenings pass by too quickly in normal life. Having dinner, talking, reading and walking together - this is a good life!

Christmas is almost here!

In just a few days, Christmas will be here!  We only have two more days of work in 2008 - it's really hard to believe that time has gone that fast.  I am looking forward to spending time with our families and friends.  Life has been busy and when time is at minimum, blogging is usually the first thing to go.  But I do have a few minutes for a short random update right now.

We had fun going Christmas caroling last night with our church.  It has been really cold so it was nice to jump back into a warm car after each house/nursing home that we went to.  Christmas has kinda snuck up on me this year.  It's always a busy time, but this year has been exceptionally so as we've moved, spent 2 weekends in other states, had friends over 5 times and more in just the last 5 weeks!  So our plan today is to go shopping for Christmas presents!  I'm sure we're not the only ones with this plan today and I'm looking forward to hopefully finding gifts for each family member on our list.  Sunday will be busy with Church in the morning where John is playing an arrangement on his violin with 3 flutes and the piano.  Then on Sunday night we have a family Christmas service where many families will be singing songs together.  We're singing with the Lanhams as we've pretty much been 'adopted' into their family here.  John is also accompanying a couple families on the piano.

So that's a bit about our life.  Time passes by so quickly and often I think of many of you who read this blog and wonder what's going on in your lives.   I hope that in this Christmas busyness that you are able to pause and remember our Savior Jesus Christ.

Off to Ohio!

In just a few minutes, I'm leaving to catch my plane. I get to spend the weekend in Ohio with John! Especially after an eventful week like this, I am looking forward to spending time with my fiance! We're planning to do a little wedding stuff - like go to Bed Bath and Beyond to register for some stuff and possibly look up some of the places around Seattle where we will spend our honeymoon :)

I have always enjoyed my trips to Ohio, and am looking forward even more to being there soon. I have only about a month of work here, a trip to Peru and then I plan to move up to Ohio on July 19th or 20th. Time is going quickly!

Yesterday with the help of my awesome neighbors, I was able to pack and move the rest of my stuff to my parents house. It's nice to have that task done. Now, I just have to go through it and get rid of the items I haven't used in the last couple years. I feel as though I have way too much stuff!
