Friday Camping Countdown - 1 Week!

Camping is all about resting - right? Well, maybe not. Usually I'm playing too many games to take much of a break. But when you finally sit down or go to sleep, it feels so good! If you are tired (and if you don't have little kids that must be watched), you could make your weekend one of rest and relaxation over conversations with friends. There's nothing like just lazing around and looking at the sky!

It's fun to see the tent city spring up each time as people arrive on Friday. There's tents, cars and people everywhere, and it takes a little time to get used to which tent belongs to each family and who your neighbors are. It's amazing to see the huge variety of tents in our microscopic city. Admiring the newest tents and taking a tour (like an open house!) is fun to do.

Usually sometime during the weekend we do take a hike. At Four Toulouse (where we'll be next week!), the hike out to the point where "the Tallapoosa and the Coosa make the Alabama" seems shorter each year. I suppose that might have something to do with all the walking I do in the mornings. Sitting around the campfire in the cool evenings eating s'mores is a must! At this point in time, the weather forecast is for highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s with a 30-60% chance of rain. I hope the rain changes move out a few days.

Not too much longer and camping time will be here!

Have a great time camping! Think of me as I am running my legs off in the morning. :)

I have to agree with you about the part where you're so tired that the resting comes easy. I'm not much of a sleep on the ground kind of person but I don't mind when I camp with you guys. I really hate we're are going to miss it this time. Enjoy!

Michele, So, how did you do on the 5k? I bet the weather was perfect for a run!

Kevin, We will certainly miss your family. But, I know you will all have fun at six flags. I don't know which one is better. Camping I guess since I've done six flags 3 times this year!
